Celebration of International Girls in ICT Day 2025

International Girls in ICT Day is a global movement initiated by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to encourage girls and young women to consider careers in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). In Nepal, there remains a significant gender gap in digital literacy and participation in the tech sector. Bridging this divide is essential for inclusive development.

Women in Information Technology (WIIT), in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Yala, proposes two impactful events to mark this important day on April 24, 2025, focusing on awareness, skill-building, and inspiration for girls and young women to pursue ICT education and careers.

Walkathon for Girls in ICT

• Date: April 23, 2025, at 7 am
• Assembly Venue: Harisiddhi Secondary School , Lalitpur
• Route : Core area of Harisiddhi
• Concluding place: Ni: Ba: Harisidhi
• Participants: School and college girls, teachers, community members around 250
• Schools: Shree Harisiddhi Secondary School, People’s School, Vishwa Vidya Mandir Boarding School, Kshitiz Secondary School
