SUMMARY:Workshop / Contest on Robotics for School Children
DESCRIPTION:WIIT held “Workshop / Contest on Robotics” for School Children in Mahendra Bhawan Higher Secondary Boarding School\, Naxal. Training was held with support of Mahendra Bhwan School\, Ex students of Batch 32 of Mahendra Bhawan School\, and Robotics Association Nepal (RAN). Experts from Robotics Association Nepal (RAN) were present to teach the students importance of robotics today\, how robotics can be made. \nGirls and boys students of class 7 and 8 were present. There were 30 participant students.  Students were given tools for making robots\, and they were kept in a group of 5 to 6 students both boys and girls\, and they were so excited\, and learned well\, and within two days\, they were able to make moving car. WIIT team and the organizing team\, and school were excited watching the  progress shown by the students.

SUMMARY:Cyber Security Hackathon for Girls students
DESCRIPTION:Rotary Club of Mount Everest Lalitpur\, association with WIIT and BugV as technical partner held Cyber Security Hackathon for Girls students of Shree Rudrayanee Secondary School\, Khokana. The event was possible with the collaboration of Rotary Club of Mount Everest Lalitpur\, BugV and Kumari Bank.  BugV team held the hackathon. The program was initiated with the help of President of Rotary Club of Mount Everest\, Lalitpur Ms. Pratima Pradhan. Chairperson of WIIT Ms. Gunakeshari Pradhan presented the importance of ICT today\, and why we need to know about Cyber security and WIIT Executive Member Ms.  Roja Kiran Basukala entertained the students with a Quiz contest on Cyber Security. Girls were so interested and there was active participation of girls in this Hackathon. Winner of the Hachathon were awarded.

DESCRIPTION:WIIT team held a workshop on ‘Digital skills for life’ for students  Lokhit Adharbhut School\, Thamel.  Need of Digital skills for life & importance of Tech Knowledge  was discussed with the students. WIIT Chairperson Ms. Gunakeshari Manandhar was present for motivating the students and Member Ms. Chrisha Shrestha shared the knowledge on importance of Science and Technology. The program helped the students to learn the importance of technology for  their future.  About 40 students particiapated the workshop.

DESCRIPTION:Organized by CSIT\, and WIIT was as a community partner. The program was focused mainly for  10+2 graduates and bachelor’s students looking for career opportunities\, and there were students from different colleges universities.  It was knowledge sharing\, ideas sharing from industry professionals to help them choose their career path. Ms.  Bandana Sharma from WIIT shared her knowledge ICT as a career. The program carried many more activities.

SUMMARY:Digital Payment and IT Securities
DESCRIPTION:For women of Socio-Economic Welfare Center for Energetic Women (EWC). EWC is an non profit  organization working for giving better life for the needy women to make them independent by learning different skill to earn their living. 35 members of EWC participated the workshop and learned that ICT is a need for day-to-day life\,  for their small scale business\,  and for good communication. They also learned how to  be secured while using ICT. Ms. Gunakeshari Pradhan\, Chairperson of WIIT entertained the participants focusing on ‘Digital Skills for Life’\, and General Secretary of WIIT Ms. Ratna Tara Tuladhar Baidya took the session on ‘Digital Payments’ \, and Executive Member Ms. Dibyoswory Dali on ‘Securities to be maintained during using Technology’.

DESCRIPTION:Digital Literacy Training for the teachers of Balmiki Adharbhut School\, a community school in Nagarkot They were 90 percent lady teachers. Some of them had little knowledge on digital payments\, but learning in detail on Digital Payment\, Digital skill for life and Cyber Security. The training was a good opportunity for them as per Principal of the school who was one of the participants. Training was held by Chairperson of WIIT Ms. Gunakeshari Pradhan\, Vice Chairperson of WIIT Ms. Sheela Kansaakar Karkee and WIIT General Secretary  Ms. Ratna Tara Tuladhar Baidya. Ms. Reeya Sthapit was present as a volunteer.

DESCRIPTION:Celebrating the International Girls in ICT Day 2023\, WIIT managed to held Webinar on ‘Digital Skills for Life’ with slogan ‘प्रबिधि र किशोरी: समय संगै अघि सरि’ for girls’ students at different schools. 40+ schools & 800+ students participated in this webinar. The event was run with co-organizers Miss-Tech (Robotics Association of Nepal)\, Smart Cheli\, and technical support from NREN. Main aim of the event was to inspire and empower girls to pursue careers in technology and provide knowledge on necessary skills for success. \nThe webinar featured young women role models who have excelled in the field of technology. These speakers shared insights and practical tips to help young women pursue careers in tech. Additionally\, some informative videos were shown to highlight the importance of digital skills in achieving career goals.

SUMMARY:Success Stories of 101 Women in ICT
DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of 113th International Women’s Day 2023\, WIIT had an opportunity to honor 101 women working in ICT field. A publication “Success Stories of Women in ICT’ was released\, and honoring program was organized to identify them. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Minister for Communication and Information Technology Honorable Rekha Sharma as a chief guest of the event. Ms. Sumana Shrestha\, the then member of parliament from Rastriya Swatantra Party was the keynote speaker in the event. \nA conference on “Digital Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality” was also organized\, and the event was held at Hotel Hyatt Place\, Kathmandu. A good number of participation of women from different sector attended the event. \nElisha Rajbhandari\, former Programme Coordinator at Asia Pacific Telecommunity\,  gave a presentation on the global initiatives on promoting gender equality in ICT. Ms. Minu Pradhan\, former director of the Wireless Services Directorate of Nepal Telecom\, presented a paper on 5G technology and its potential impact on the development of a truly smart society with gender equality. \nThe program was held in collaboration with Nepal Telecom\, Nepal Bank Limited\, and Living with ICT as technical partner.

Sessions were presented by WIIT Executive members Ms. Ratna Tara Tuladhar Baidya\, Ms. Dibyswory Dali\, Ms. Palpasa Tuladhar and WIIT Member Ms. Shova Sedhai. Vice Chairperson of WIIT Ms. Sheela Kansakar Karkee was present in the event. Chairperson of the WIIT Ms. Gunakeshari Pradhan welcomed everyone\, and thank you note to the participants was delivered by the Chairperson of Innerwheel Club of Rajdhani.
