DESCRIPTION:A workshop on “Digital Payment and Cyber Security” was held for the women of Lalitpur Women Chamber. The program was organized by the Lalitpur Women Chamber with co-organizer Lalitpur Metropolitan and WIIT as technical partner. The event was graced with presence of Deputy Mayor Ms.  Manjali Shakya Bajracharya\, and Founder President of Lalitpur Chamber was also present in the event.  President of Lalitpur Women Chamber Ms. Sunita Bajracharya welcomed all the participants. There were business women and home makers\, and few men participants. Sessions went very well with active participation from the participants. Sessions like “Digital Skill for day-to-day life”\, “Digital Payment and securities”\, and “How to be secured using Internet” were discussed. Chairperson of WIIT Ms. Gunakeshari Pradhan\, WIIT General Secretary Ms. Ratna Tara Tuladhar Baidya and WIIT Executive Member Ms. Roja Kiran Basukala presented their presentations on related topics accordingly.

Chief of wada  was present for the commencement of the program and he showed interest for such trainings for more and more women in that area. Chairperson of WIIT Ms. Gunakeshari Pradhan took the session on Digital Skill for day to day life\, similarly General Secretary of WIIT Ms. Ratna Tara Tuladhar Baidya shared knowledge on\,’ what is Digital Payment\, how digital payment and online shopping work’  and WIIT Executive Member Ms. Roja Kiran Basukala made the participants aware of the security measures to be taken care of while using Internet and how to be secure while using digital skills and digital payment. There were 25 women participants in the event.

DESCRIPTION:WIIT held a ‘Talk Program on Role of Science and Technology in Career Development ‘ for the girls students of three different schools. Initially\, students who were not interested to learn ICT\, but after the sessions\, they were showing their interest in learning more and more science and technology. So\, such motivational sessions need to be carried on with the girls during their schooling. Ms Shova Sedhai and Ms. Chrisha Shrestha presented their presentation on the topic with good examples. General Secretary of WIIT Ms. Ratna Tara Tuladhar Baidya was preset in the event for motivating the students. Principal of the school thanked and requested for more such trainings for the students not only girls but to boys too.

SUMMARY:Workshop / Contest on Robotics for School Children
DESCRIPTION:WIIT held “Workshop / Contest on Robotics” for School Children in Mahendra Bhawan Higher Secondary Boarding School\, Naxal. Training was held with support of Mahendra Bhwan School\, Ex students of Batch 32 of Mahendra Bhawan School\, and Robotics Association Nepal (RAN). Experts from Robotics Association Nepal (RAN) were present to teach the students importance of robotics today\, how robotics can be made. \nGirls and boys students of class 7 and 8 were present. There were 30 participant students.  Students were given tools for making robots\, and they were kept in a group of 5 to 6 students both boys and girls\, and they were so excited\, and learned well\, and within two days\, they were able to make moving car. WIIT team and the organizing team\, and school were excited watching the  progress shown by the students.

DESCRIPTION:Rotary Club of Mount Everest Lalitpur\, association with WIIT and BugV as technical partner held Cyber Security Hackathon for Girls students of Shree Rudrayanee Secondary School\, Khokana. The event was possible with the collaboration of Rotary Club of Mount Everest Lalitpur\, BugV and Kumari Bank.  BugV team held the hackathon. The program was initiated with the help of President of Rotary Club of Mount Everest\, Lalitpur Ms. Pratima Pradhan. Chairperson of WIIT Ms. Gunakeshari Pradhan presented the importance of ICT today\, and why we need to know about Cyber security and WIIT Executive Member Ms.  Roja Kiran Basukala entertained the students with a Quiz contest on Cyber Security. Girls were so interested and there was active participation of girls in this Hackathon. Winner of the Hachathon were awarded.

DESCRIPTION:WIIT with collaboration of DAV College\, organized A very new and interesting topic for the new generation “Insights into the world of Block Chains”. Program Hall\, logistics and technical support was provided by the college. Presentations from Blockchain experts from Venture 2 Inc – Mr. Prabhash Rajbhandari and Ms. Mallika Bhattarai were presented. Being a new topic\, there were many queries from the participants. Students from different colleges universities\, working young girls and boys\, WIIT members were present in the event.

DESCRIPTION:WIIT Team successfully completed Presentation & Interaction Program on ” Digital Skills for life & AI basics with face recognition” which was held for the girls’ students of two different schools in Boudha – Kumari English Boarding School\, Boudha & Mahendra Boudha Madhyamik Vidyalaya\, Boudha 20+ students from each school Participated the program. The presentation focused on the importance of ICT and AI for their day-to-day life today. Students actively participated in the sessions. The presentation was given by WIIT member Ms. Samikshya Singh. Chairperson of WIIT\, Ms. Gunakeshari Pradhan was present to deliver her thanks to schools and students for giving WIIT an opportunity for this sessions.

Panel discussion was also a part of the conference and Ms. Dibyoswory Dali\, Executive Member of WIIT\, was in the panelist.

DESCRIPTION:A workshop on “Choosing ICT as a Career Choice” & “Cyber security” was carried on successfully for the students at Mount View English Boarding School\, Balkot. This talk program for the girls’ students helped them to learn why ICT can be their future\, and that ICT is important for any field they choose in future. Chairperson of WIIT Ms. Gunakeshari Pradhan presented on ‘Why ICT Profession’ and Vice Chairperson of WIIT. Ms. Sheela Kansaakar Karkee and WIIT member Ms. Dibya Tara Shakya shared knowledge on How choosing ICT as a career can be beneficial and motivate the students with their valuable words.

SUMMARY:International Girls in ICT Day 2023
DESCRIPTION:Celebrating the International Girls in ICT Day 2023\, WIIT managed to held Webinar on ‘Digital Skills for Life’ with slogan ‘प्रबिधि र किशोरी: समय संगै अघि सरि’ for girls’ students at different schools. 40+ schools & 800+ students participated in this webinar. The event was run with co-organizers Miss-Tech (Robotics Association of Nepal)\, Smart Cheli\, and technical support from NREN. Main aim of the event was to inspire and empower girls to pursue careers in technology and provide knowledge on necessary skills for success. \nThe webinar featured young women role models who have excelled in the field of technology. These speakers shared insights and practical tips to help young women pursue careers in tech. Additionally\, some informative videos were shown to highlight the importance of digital skills in achieving career goals.

SUMMARY:Success Stories of 101 Women in ICT
DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of 113th International Women’s Day 2023\, WIIT had an opportunity to honor 101 women working in ICT field. A publication “Success Stories of Women in ICT’ was released\, and honoring program was organized to identify them. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Minister for Communication and Information Technology Honorable Rekha Sharma as a chief guest of the event. Ms. Sumana Shrestha\, the then member of parliament from Rastriya Swatantra Party was the keynote speaker in the event. \nA conference on “Digital Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality” was also organized\, and the event was held at Hotel Hyatt Place\, Kathmandu. A good number of participation of women from different sector attended the event. \nElisha Rajbhandari\, former Programme Coordinator at Asia Pacific Telecommunity\,  gave a presentation on the global initiatives on promoting gender equality in ICT. Ms. Minu Pradhan\, former director of the Wireless Services Directorate of Nepal Telecom\, presented a paper on 5G technology and its potential impact on the development of a truly smart society with gender equality. \nThe program was held in collaboration with Nepal Telecom\, Nepal Bank Limited\, and Living with ICT as technical partner.

SUMMARY:Workshop on Digital Payment and IT Securities
DESCRIPTION:Women in Information Technology (WIIT) held one day workshop at World Trade Center\, Tripuresor for the legendary women of Innerwheel Club of Rajdhani\, in collaboration of Inner wheel Club of Rajdhani. Participants were mostly retired women from different respectable sectors like doctors\, bankers\, women in health sectors\, beauticians\, army\, lecturers\, businesswomen\, house makers\, etc. And there were young working women too. Sessions were presented by WIIT Executive members Ms. Ratna Tara Tuladhar Baidya\, Ms. Dibyswory Dali\, Ms. Palpasa Tuladhar and WIIT Member Ms. Shova Sedhai. Vice Chairperson of WIIT Ms. Sheela Kansakar Karkee was present in the event. Chairperson of the WIIT Ms. Gunakeshari Pradhan welcomed everyone\, and thank you note to the participants was delivered by the Chairperson of Innerwheel Club of Rajdhani.
